Romance / January 9 - February 7, 2009

Romance is David Mamet's most recent and quite possibly, his most outrageous play. It is a black farce in which a court case is continually interrupted by the personal obsessions and perversions of all the characters, including the judge, and by attempts to bring peace to the Middle East. Macho men onstage, each jockeying to become the alpha male. Dialogue that bursts like fitful gunfire. Language that tints the air blue. A view of women that makes feminists go nuclear. Warning: language and truly offensive opinions. A regional premiere!

As Bees in Honey Drown / March 27 - April 25, 2009

As Bees in Honey Drown is a comedy about the quest for fame and stardom. But wanting the spot light is not as good as it seems. Eager painters, singers, musicians, business managers, and authors are displayed as trapped victims of many con artists who give them empty promises. The story centers on Evan Wyler, a hot new writer who has recently burst onto the New York literary scene. He falls head over heels for Alexa Vere de Vere: a glamorous, jet setting, mystery-cloaked woman at the top of the media biz and the celebrity a lists. But who is Alexa Vere de Vere really and what is her game? This thought provoking assessment of our image-over-substance society cuts to the quick as well as entertains. A regional premiere!

Trolling / May 8 - June 6, 2009

Generations collide in this comedy about gay aging, generation gaps, and the true definition of family. Trolling received an Elly Nomination for Best Original Script in 2004 when it was first produced. This play was popular with audiences and we’re bringing it back to the stage in anticipation of the production of Trolling Away which will be part of our 21st season.
