areas feature 1,700 square-feet of costume storage, a large costume shop
with washer, dryer and dye washer, roomy dressing rooms, sizeable scene
shop and prop storage and substantial wing space.
The Hoblit Performing Arts Center is the result of a three year effort by
DMTC, designers Steve Isaacson (Co-Founder and Producer of DMTC), Mark
Groen (Acanthus Studios of Sacramento), Harrison Construction of Davis,
Vasko Electric of Sacramento, SD Ochs (framing), Meline Engineering
(mechanical and plumbing design), and BJ's Heating and Air of Woodland.
The Hoblit Performing Arts Center is scheduled to open on November 11, 2005
with Stephen Sondheim's INTO THE WOODS, when it will take its place as one
of the area's premier performing arts venues and new home to the
all-volunteer Davis Musical Theatre Company.
What do you get when you cross Little Red Ridinghood, Cinderella, Jack and
the Beanstalk and Stephen Sondheim? Classic fairy tales meet in the woods
as DMTC proudly presents Stephen Sondheim's INTO THE WOODS, opening
November 11 and playing through December 4 at the brand new 10,000 square
foot, 240 seat Hoblit Performing Arts Center at 607 Peña Drive in Davis.
