Imprint Theatre Company
May 2008

Imprint Theatre Company (Imprint) was founded in 2005 by Artistic Director, Kelly Archer. It exists to serve the communities of Sacramento through the medium of theatre, by providing art that is thought-provoking, soul-stirring and transcendent. Imprint’s first production was Unpublished Letters, followed by The Boys Next Door, The Last Time I

Saw Timmy Boggs and Marvin’s Room. Our latest production, The Last Night of Ballyhoo, by Alfred Uhry, opens on May 9.

It is the goal of Imprint to become a fully-functioning theatre company with its own space, eventually having a resident theatre company of actors and full production staff, serving the community with a full season of theatre every year. Until the time that Imprint can acquire its own space, the actors are privileged to use the stage at Oak Hills Church, 1100 Blue Ravine Road, Folsom, CA 95630.

Marvin's Room

Imprint’s latest production, The Last Night of Ballyhoo, takes place in 1939. The premier of “Gone with the Wind” has just taken place and Hitler has invaded Poland. What is uppermost on the minds of Atlanta’s elitist German Jews, however, is not the war …it is Ballyhoo, the social event of the season.

Unpublished Letters

Alfred Uhry’s foray into the lives of Jewish southerners was first introduced to the public with his Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Driving Miss Daisy in 1988. The Last Night of Ballyhoo was first produced for the Atlanta Olympic Games in 1996, won a Tony Award for Best Play the following year. Production dates are May 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, & 25. Friday shows begin at 8 p.m., Saturday matinees begin at 2 p.m., and Sunday shows begin at 7 p.m.. Tickets are $20 General Admission and $15 for Seniors/Students.

Tickets may be purchased online at imprinttheatre.org or by calling the box office at (916) 627-6533. Tickets are also being sold at the door for $5 more.
